For use with gas starter systems |
| Problems typically arise when the customer has installed a gas starter system. The problem is that our grate may
not provide adequate ‘’ground clearance’’ to clear some of the piping associated with some systems. Often our in stock grates
will work with gas starter systems without modifications. This depends on the exact dimensions of said system. Please feel free to call us and inquire about compatibility. If it is found that our grate will interfere with the gas plumbing, there are several options to be explored. |
|
| Option 1, Simply remove and abandon the gas starter system. |
|
| Option 2, Modify the plumbing. Most gas starter systems are constructed with standard pipe thread fittings that can be purchased at local hardware stores. These systems can usually be easily reconfigured with a selection of different fittings. This is often the best way to fine tune the starter/grate combination to maximize the effectiveness of the gas starter set-up. (This is best left to a professional plumber or gas service professional.) |
|
Option 3, Have us build you a custom grate that will clear your existing system. This may be the most reasonable option that is left. Pictured below (Fig. A, B) is a typical solution to the problem.
Pictured is a standard Wall of Fire grate with a modified leg designed to clear gas starter piping. This leg design can be incorporated into any size or height grate that we sell. Compatible with all Wall of Fire ornaments. |
