Description

15" Tall, 31" Wide, 14" Deep. Approximate shipping weight in box: 3/4" construction weighs 42 lbs. 1" construction weighs 74 lbs.

Fireplace size requirements for the M-7 grate:
The rear wall of the fireplace must be a minimum of 31" wide (dimension A), the fireplace floor must be a minimum of 16" deep (dimension B), the height of the fireplace front opening should be a minimum of 25" (dimension C) to allow adequate clearance to easily load firewood onto the grate. If your opening is less than 25" in height or your floor is less than 16" in depth, you should consider one of our shorter "S" series grates instead. See more sizing information on our measuring guide page.

Fireplace construction requirements for the M-7 grate:
It is important to understand that the Wall of Fire grate is a one sided unit. This means that the burning firewood is positioned between the grate and the rear wall of the fireplace. Having the firewood in direct contact with the back wall of the fireplace will significantly increase the temperature of the firebrick and may cause brick and mortar fatigue over time. Because of this we highly recommend you also purchase a fireback to shield the back wall of the fireplace from excessive heat. If you are planning to use a Wall of Fire grate in any non mason built fireplace such as a pre-fab, zero clearance, or metal fireplace, the addition of a fireback is absolutely mandatory.

So much better than a standard grate!
A friend of ours has a Grate Wall of Fire in her home and we were impressed by the heat it radiated and the beautiful fire. We installed our Grate Wall of Fire in our extra large central fire place. We love how easily it lights and how fast the logs catch. We put a piece(s) of cardboard facing out between the grate and fire backs. We then add two or more split logs. Finally we place two paper twists in front of the grate at the base and light them. Within minutes we have a beautiful fire which throws out oodles of heat and light.

Wow Wow Wow
Received my new grate last week and just started my first fire. Haven't used my fireplace in over 10 years because the smoke was unbearable. This thing kicks butt big time. Crazy hot heat and not one puff of smoke. This is the best money I have spent for anything in years. What a pleasure to do business with geniuses like you. Posting a picture to my facebook now so I can brag to everyone about it. Thank you sooooomuch!

Loveit! We were pulling out a gas log insert and wanted to go with pellet or wood stove insert. Sticker shock ! Somehow i stumbled on the website and decided to jump in and buy the grate and the fireback. A bit pricey but good quality and grate ;) service ! We have been burning 2-3 times a week - had to invest in a humidifier last week! building a real fire and sitting next to it on a cold eve- simple pleasures! Look forward to enjoying the fireplace this holiday season. Thinking about adding decorative finials to the two ends.

Your grate
Gents: We recently purchased your super duty grate for our home. High output is an understament! We love it. I'll leave you with this from my ancestor Sir Walter Scott: Heap on more wood! The wind is chill.... We'll keep our Christmas Merry still! Dale and Colleen K. West Bend, WI
