M-7 Gothic Fireplace Grate

We purchased this along with a metal backplate for our historic cabin. The cabin was built in 1920 by the county illegally for supervisors at 7200ft high with prison labor and left over materials from county projects. Needless to say, NOTHING was built correctly or to last more then a few seasons. The fireplace was no exception. The construction was local rock and concrete. Since we purchased the cabin 5years ago, the fireplace smoked bad! I mean, fill the cabin with smoke bad. You could not be inside with a fire going. I believe this is due from cracks and other issues. We installed a fan system on the stack to draw out the the smoke and have been using that the past 4 years with great success. I found this site and thought it was worth a try, besides, the grates look cool anyway, so even if it did not help with the smoke, it would be worth the purchase. I am very happy to say that the grate does actually help quite a bit with smoke!!! If I have a fire without the fan on, I get a slight bit of smoke which is very tolerable. I do still run the fan, but now I can run it on its lowest setting instead of having to keep it on full blast. Amazing product, great customer service and I cant recommend enough!

I heard this type of grate described on a commercial while listening to a program on the GCN Network, and it described what I had attempted to do manually to avoid a smoking fireplace. WOW, does it ever work! It puts out significantly more heat that the the old grate. And now for the best part--it's a showplace grate for a lodge-style fireplace that we are fortunately lucky enough to have. It's a must buy!!! I've been recommending it to my family members and I expect they'll follow suit. I'll be getting another for the kitchen fireplace once I catch up from holiday spending!!!

So glad I bought his fireplace grate; had issues with smoke in my living room with previous grate, ZERO issues with the grate wall of fire! Fires light easier/quicker, burn hotter and longer with less wood; wish I had purchased this grate sooner- a great addition to the house.
