S-5 Pineapple Fireplace Grate 21" Wide

We just got the short decorative grate for a fireplace that always managed to leak smoke into our living room, sometimes a little, and often, quite a lot. We got the Grate Wall of Fire grate at a friend's recommendation, and it has 100% solved our smoke issue. We opted for the somewhat more expensive decorative grate because it really is much nicer looking. We have the 21" short grate, and it would easily hold 6 large logs, we typically have 3 logs in it, and it's perfect. We're getting more heat and zero smoke. Highly recommended if you have any smoke issues. And really, even if you don't. Easier to get the fire going, and more heat, so I'd get this again even if I didn't have smoke issues.

Bought this to use with the 26" fireback. We have a shallow fireplace and had some problems with some smoke intrusion into the living room. The gate significantly reduced the smoke problem. Also, the fire burns more completely than with previous standard design grate. Overall I'm happy with the purchase; the item is very solid construction The only comment I have is when logs are added to the fire, the grate slides forward a bit because the logs tend to form a wedge between the grate and the fireback. Maybe in future design it might be useful to have a mechanism to attach the grate to the legs of the fireback. This is just a minor point though.

Heavy, well built grate that solved our smoking fireplace issue. Well worth the money.
