Description

The T series was the first generation design of our Wall of Fire grates. Although not as popular as their shorter counterparts; the S and M series, some are still drawn to the allure of our original grate design. It really comes down to aesthetics and of course, having the necessary fireplace opening height to fit these taller units.

Note:
It is a common misconception that a T series grate will produce more heat than an M series unit. Both units actually produce the same amount of heat because the lower ember retaining chamber is identical on both. A wider grate on the other hand, will produce more heat than a narrower unit because of the increased width of the ember chamber.

Dimensions:
19" Tall, 26" Wide, 14" Deep. Approximate shipping weight in box: 3/4" construction weighs 42 lbs. 1" construction weighs 74 lbs.

Fireplace size requirements for the T-6 grate:
The rear wall of the fireplace must be a minimum of 26" wide (dimension A), the fireplace floor must be a minimum of 16" deep (dimension B), the height of the fireplace front opening should be a minimum of 30" (dimension C) to allow adequate clearance to easily load firewood onto the grate. See more sizing information on our measuring guide page.

Fireplace construction requirements for the T-6 grate:
It is important to understand that the Wall of Fire grate is a one sided unit. This means that the burning firewood is positioned between the grate and the rear wall of the fireplace. Having the firewood in direct contact with the back wall of the fireplace will significantly increase the temperature of the firebrick and may cause brick and mortar fatigue over time. Because of this we highly recommend you also purchase a fireback to shield the back wall of the fireplace from excessive heat. If you are planning to use a Wall of Fire grate in any non mason built fireplace such as a pre-fab, zero clearance, or metal fireplace, the addition of a fireback is absolutely mandatory.

excellent product
Hello, I purchased a T-6 grate in Oct. 2011,and I purposely waited a full winter season before writing a review, last winter 2011-12, I burned just under a cord of wood with my T-6 grate. Never in my 12 years of using the same fireplace have I felt the heat output this grate produces. It is simply amazing. Hands down, the best fireplace grate money can buy. I look forward to the upcoming winter. Thank you Very Much! James R.

WOW!
Wow! I wouldn't have believed I could get so much heat out of such a small amount of wood. And for the first time in 50 years, I don't have to worry about tending the fire to keep the smoke down or the fire going. I have a large fireplace and got the T6, but I could have done with the medium. I'll never load this guy even near the top. Fantastic.

With the in-presidential winter storm what we are experiencing today, I can’t believe how the Fireplace 26 grate has kept my home warm. Today No electrify, No water, No internet, plenty of wood the Grate was a God sent.

This is our second Grate Wall of Fire - and it’s incredible. This time we purchased the largest grate and fireback our fireplace can accommodate - and what a difference! The smaller was wonderfully efficient - but this larger grate and fireback are simoly incredible. Worth the additional small investment. Strongly strongly strongly recommend that anyone with a fireplace buy these!

T-6 fire grate
Purchased this grate and matching fireback 19 years ago and have been very pleased with how this system functions. Wood burns completely and the fireback puts warmth in our den. In building our cabin, there wasn’t a thought about using any other type of grate or fireback. Heavy duty and worth every penny!

Fantastic
Love this thing. It's excellent and I love how I can load the whole thing really high and leave it for hours of burning beauty. I would like to suggest an enhancement which would be to incorporate an electric fan heat exchanger system with the Grate.

Mr.
We recently converted back to wood fires from gas, but quickly realized when we re-did the fireplace for gas 10 years ago, we made the opening about 4 inches taller than it was originally. But didnt realize until now it was a problem: we started having smoke problems. The T-6 grate (which fits our large 34" tall x 26" wide x 27 " deep box perfectly) has resolved our smoke problems by keeping the wood toward the back. Then the 20" tall x 26" wide reflective fireback warms the room nice and gives us piece of mind that the masonry is protected. I've also noticed that we have to tend to it less once the fire gets going. Very impressed with how this has worked - highly recommend!

Wish I found this earlier
All I can say is “what in the world?!?” We spent $2600 on a wood burning insert and then another $450 to install it. We were so dissatisfied so I pulled it out. We found your company and were skeptical but all the reviews just raved on and on and on. Our house is 50 years old. Smoke billowed out and filled the room in such a terrible way that we could not enjoy the fireplace, which is why we went with an insert per our technicians suggestion. This device is absolutely fantastic. Took me 5 minutes to install. Lit a fire and absolutely NO SMOKE BILLOWING OUT AT ALL! The heat displacement from the reflective fire back is INCREDIBLE! We feel heat further away from the fireplace than we ever have. Thank you so, so, so much for having the intuition to make such an amazing product THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!

Mr
Old and very large fireplace created a lot of smoke. Chimney took forever to properly heat up and draw. The T-6 grate immediately solved the problem. We are now smoke free.

Great product. We were having trouble with smoke coming into the interior of our house after we placed a cap above our chimney. We purchased the grate and after over a dozen fires the smoke problem was solved. We were also impressed with how much more heat came into the room. A very well designed and constructed fire grate. Thank you.

Terrific
We have a 1700s colonial house with a shallow tall fireplace. The Grate Wall of Fire Grate is a perfectly useful and attractive addition -- it looks right at home and performs efficiently with a noticeable increase in heat.
