If you are in search of a truly stunning and extremely well built wood burning grate for your fireplace you need not look further. Introducing our new line of 1" construction Wall of Fire vertical grates. These beauties are built from solid 1" square bar instead of 3/4" and contain about 75% more steel than our original Wall of Fire grates. If you want a grate that will have serious presence in your fireplace here it is.

How to buy:

To upgrade your fireplace grate to 1" solid steel, select "Heavy Duty" in the grate construction drop-down box before clicking the "Add to Cart" button.

For example, let's say you want a 1" construction M-5 grate:

1. Select "Vertical fireplace grates" from the menu on the left side of the site.
2. Find the M-5 grate and click on the image, this takes you the M-5 product page.
3. Scroll down to the "Choose Options" area and select "Heavy Duty" from the grate construction drop-down box.
4. Click the "Add to Cart" button.

Note: 1" construction grates ship free in the contiguous U.S.A.

Which grates are available in 1" steel?

1" construction fireplace grates are available in all vertical grate sizes except for the TR-7 Rumford grate.

Only certain styles of decorative grates are available in 1" construction. These include our gothic soft top, fleur-de-lis, and star fireplace grates.

you choose, the add-on ornaments can be added to a plain 1" construction grate at a later date.

Note: 1" construction grates are a specialty item and are built when an order is placed. Therefore, expect an additional 2 to 4 business days of processing before your grate is shipped.
